# Securing the SI Era: Human Plus Machine

## Executive Summary

Our homepage now reads "Securing the ~~AI~~ SI Era." At KLM Innovation, superintelligence isn't just a political narrative. Humans plus machines work together to raise the quality bar that neither can achieve alone. That's always been our operating model.

I set the direction and make the calls. Fleets of agents and local AI do research, analysis, drafting, review, and audits. Multiple models cross-check each other before anything reaches me. Nothing ships without my approval, and nothing auto-publishes.

Our products, KLM Innovation Security Monitor, our briefs, and llms.txt, stay AI. The work is still grounded in cybersecurity, specifically application, API, and AI security, and geared towards agent reuse.

## SI is in the headlines

The term picked up official weight this fall. On September 29th, the White House published an executive order directing federal agencies to use "Super Intelligence" and "SI" in place of "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in official communications. The order defines SI using the existing statutory definition of AI. California's governor announced an executive order on September 30th that keeps "Artificial Intelligence" as the state's term. On October 4th, Elon Musk posted on X: "No more AI. SI. It's better." That one landed close to home, since Grok is one of the models in our own fleet. Forbes reports Jeff Bezos told Fox News on October 7th that he likes SI because "artificial sort of means fake." Axios reports the president posted on Truth Social on October 8th that the White House considers anyone still saying "Artificial Intelligence" the enemy.

Axios notes that "super intelligence" usually means a hypothetical system more advanced than human intelligence. For us, SI describes a partnership, and the human half of it isn't optional. In policy, SI is a new label for the same technology.

## How KLM Innovation actually works

KLM Innovation is a founder working alongside a fleet of AI agents and models. I decide what we cover, what matters, and what we say. Agents and local AI handle the volume: gathering sources, writing first drafts, reviewing each other's work, and running gate checks on naming, voice, links, and claims. Multiple models cross-check each other, and they catch each other's mistakes more often than you'd expect. Then I read it, push back, edit, and approve.

Neither side does this well alone. The machines bring speed, breadth, and patience for checks a person would skip late at night. I bring judgment, context, and accountability for what goes out under our name. Every brief, post, and page that carries KLM Innovation has a human mind behind it.

## The same discipline we recommend

This is the pattern we tell teams to use for their own agents. An agent with a clear task, scoped access, and a human approval gate multiplies what a small team can do. An agent with broad credentials and no gate is a risk you're carrying without knowing its size. We run our own shop the way we'd want yours to run.

## What we still mean by security

The headline changed. The problems didn't:

1. **Agents** act with real credentials, so their scope is a security decision.
2. **Tools and connectors** widen what an agent can reach. Inventory them like any other third party.
3. **Scope** gets enforced at the network and permission layer, not in the prompt.
4. **Proof before triage.** An AI finding should be reproduced against a running system before it reaches a developer.
5. **Fix capacity** is the real bottleneck. Finding more bugs only helps if you can ship the fixes.

## What stays AI

Our product names don't change. The KLM Innovation Security Monitor, our briefs, and llms.txt keep saying AI, because that's the technology they cover and the term our readers and their agents are accustomed to. SI describes how we work. AI describes what we secure.

## Where this leaves you

If you're putting agents to work, the question isn't what to call them. It's who's in charge, what they can reach, and who approves what they ship. That's the work we do every day, with a human making the calls and a fleet doing the heavy lifting. Have we moved beyond AI being a basic tool and becoming something greater? Or superintelligent? I think so, but arguing the point detracts from productivity and security.
